Are Hope brakes any good?
Hope’s brakes have a lot of fans and I can see their appeal – the craftsmanship is excellent, as is product backup. As with all brakes, some people will like the modulation rather than sharp braking feel, and it’s easy to control the power on offer via the very adjustable lever.

What kind of brakes do you have on your hope XTR?
I’ve had bikes with XTR, XT, and various SRAM brakes. The Hope tech 3 E4 brakes are in another league in terms of built quality and design IMO. The E4 calipers are CNCed from a single piece of aircraft-grade aluminum. I opted for the equally well designed floating disc rotors (200/180mm).

Is the Shimano Tech 3/e4 4-pot worth it?
With a very impressive system weight of 256g, comparing well with the competition (304g for Shimano XT four-pots for example), the price felt very reasonable, and I found the Tech 3/E4 combination very hard to see beyond.
What do you think about the XTR hope E4?
XTR look blingy like which is always good! Recently swicthed from xt 785’s to hope e4’s. The hopes are about the same power as the xt’s but offer more modulation, but the hopes are substantially more sensitive to correct installation My Hope’s so far haven’t leaked oil onto my rotors. I like this feature.
