What is an Olli class?
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at University of the Pacific is a non-profit education program designed for people ages 50+ and open to all adult learners. Each year OLLI provides intellectually stimulating non-credit classes, interest groups, local and international trips, and special events for its members.
Can I take classes at Duke?
Under the Interinstitutional Program, any approved enrolled full-time degree seeking graduate or undergraduate student (excluding continuing studies, visiting, or non-degree students), may register for courses with appropriate approval at the following Universities: Duke University.

How hard are classes at Duke?
Duke classes are hard. They are really hard. I did awesome in math in high school, but as a former engineer, math was one of my toughest subjects so far at Duke. Despite the rigorous curriculum, students here manage to balance their time, study hard, and do well in classes.

What kind of courses are offered at Olli?
OLLI courses are not-for-credit. This means there is no homework, exams, or grades (and no pressure!) It’s learning for learning’s sake. You’ll find non-credit courses and workshops in many topical areas, including art history, film, history, politics and economics, literature and language, and science.
Can I attend Olli courses outside of North Carolina?
Yes! Currently, most of OLLI’s courses are online via Zoom. Because so many courses are online, we are able to reach Duke Alumni and others from across the country and internationally. Last year, we had several hundred members attend courses from outside of North Carolina, including Los Angeles, Paris, London, and New Zealand.
