Are Samick bows any good?
Overall the Samick Sage takedown recurve is an excellent bow, not just an excellent bow for the price, but an excellent bow by anybody’s standard. It will shoot as well as bows in higher price brackets. It’s a great recurve bow. Good for both hunting and recreational archers who target shoot.
Is Samick archery out of business?
Samick has ceased production of all archery equipment. There were discussions of a buy over, but it did not materialize.

Can you leave a Samick Sage strung?
Samick does offer replacements limbs/strings though, so even if you leave it strung and something happens, you can easily replace the affected part. I personally unstring my Samick Sage when I’m done using it, but I keep the limbs screwed in.

In 2002, a consortium of Korean businessmen acquired Samick and retired all of its debt.

How often should you Unstring your bow?
Fiberglass laminated longbows and recurves only need to be unstrung if you don’t plan to shoot them for an extended period of time or expect to take a trip with them in a hot car. All-wooden laminated bows and selfbows need to be unstrung when you’re done shooting to prevent the limbs from retaining the bent shape.

The Sage is cut past center, i.e., a centershot bow. Because the past center cut makes room, you can use an adjustable rest/plunger combo or plate build out.
